When it comes to synchronizing music between a computer and an iOS device, iTunes is not the most efficient solution. Because of its confusing options, you could make a mistake when synchronizing your music and you may find yourself with missing tracks on your phone. To make the operation easier, you can use iTunesFusion, which enables you to synchronize your iTunes library with an external device. Unlike iTunes, the software is not limited to iOS devices. It is capable of synchronizing your playlists with mostly any devices, including Android or Windows phones and even USB flash drives.

iTunesFusion is available in free and paid versions, which can be used on Windows XP and all later versions, including various Server editions. It can be installed in under a minute, without any kind of difficulties. To run the software successfully, you need to have iTunes up and running on your computer.

The program allows you to set up multiple synchronization profiles, for different devices. It works in the background, but you can bring up a general settings menu, which includes everything you need to prepare your synchronization profiles and to make a few tweaks to the program's behavior. To create a new profile, you must select a destination folder on your connected device and one or more iTunes playlists. The software can detect your playlists in iTunes automatically and it displays them in a list, so you only need to click their corresponding check boxes. Additionally, you can set iTunesFusion to convert your files and to rename them according to a series of wildcards.

Synchronization processes can be started in a different menu, which can be accessed through the same system tray icon. All you have to do is select a profile and a device and click a button to start synchronizing. The operation's progress is displayed on the same window and you can also view the used and remaining space of your device and its buffer size, on separate tabs.

Pros

You can synchronize your iTunes library with any external device. Preparing and executing a synchronization profile is quite easy. The software can also convert and rename your files when synchronizing them.

Cons

The possibility of setting iTunesFusion to synchronize automatically when a device is plugged in would be a welcome feature. With iTunesFusion, it takes only one click to synchronize your entire iTunes library with your smartphone, MP3 player or any other device.
